NEW This Season – Skiing with Mindfulness Series – Steps 6 &7
What is Mindfulness? While there are many definitions, most emphasize paying attention to the present moment, and noticing what is happening with your thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and external environment. Research suggests that it is effective for stress and anxiety. Mindfulness approaches are being developed for a variety of sports such as golf and other performance oriented activities.
How does it work? By learning to let go of the need for a specific future outcome, the body relaxes and performance improves! If you feel that your thoughts and emotions are interfering with your performance, if you want to progress your skiing skills, then try a mindfulness approach. As well as skiing technique, we will be working with breathing and relaxation techniques to reduce anxiety and increase enjoyment!
Your instructor Peg McPhedran is an experienced yoga and meditation teacher (RYT500) as well as a long time ski instructor with High Park.
Series 1: Sundays, January 12 and 19 @ Blue Mountain
Series 2: Mondays, February 10 and 24 @ Blue Mountain
